I am in my mid forties and have been married now for over 19 years, with four children. We are active members of our local community, including our church. I therefore have substantial experience of life, families and relationships.
As well as a psychotherapist, I am a Chartered Surveyor and have worked in senior management and director roles in the property sector for over 20 years. I currently work for a major PLC company. I therefore have considerable understanding of the requirements and pressures of commercial work.
My training in psychotherapy began in 2003 when I studied Neuro Linguistic Programming, culminating with a Master Practitioner qualification in 2005. During this time I realised I had an ability to work with people in a therapeutic capacity. As my skills developed, I became increasingly interested in finding the most effective forms of psychotherapy – there are over 400 different therapies on offer, with varying levels of effectiveness. I identified human givens psychotherapy as the latest, most effective therapy available, since it provides the best organising idea in the mental health field today, largely because it accounts for why people become mentally unwell as well as giving a reliable way to go about doing something about it. My training as a human givens psychotherapist began in 2005 and I qualified with distinction in the Human Givens Diploma in 2008, achieving one of the highest examination ratings awarded so far by MindFields College.
I am a Graduate Member of the Human Givens Institute (GHGI), fully insured to practice as a therapist and I adhere to the Human Givens Institute Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct in my work.
